A NEW ADDITION TO THE WEBSITE
"In Your Court"
By Billy Crawford May 30th, 2011
I start by thanking the CPTC leadership team for allowing me the opportunity to make contributions to the City Park Tennis Club website.
Big Al Reagle, the webmaster, has been extremely supportive and helpful in the planning and the startup process. Thanks Al.
Now you ask, who is this Billy Crawford? What is he up to? Let me attempt to answer these questions.
After 42 years as a Louisiana public school educator, I fully retired in June of 2009. Since retiring, I have been able to be more engaged in the practice and play of this great game of tennis. In early 2010, I rejoined the club (having briefly had membership just prior of Katrina). I have fully enjoyed these last months of membership, getting to know and participate with many other members.
With more "time on my hands" and a desire to contribute back to the club, I have volunteered to write a new column on the website, called "In Your Court". It will be a "work in progress" as is my tennis game, and maybe yours.
What will the column consist of? Interviews of members and other tennis enthusiasts. Book and/or article reviews about tennis.
Hopefully, this effort will help us get to know each other a little better and gain more knowledge about the game we all love.
